The DeSoto Independent School District announces a DeSoto High School Teacher Recruitment event on Saturday, September 11 from 9 AM to noon in the DHS Academy Cafeteria located at 600 Eagle Drive.

DeSoto High School is seeking a few more core instructional staff to help its students reach their highest potential. This fair is specifically designed for the district to quickly connect with highly qualified and experienced professionals to fill these remaining vacancies at the DeSoto High School campus.

“We are so laser-focused on ensuring that we are doing everything we can to identify the best educators possible, said Dr. Mya Asberry, DeSoto ISD chief academic officer. “We want our scholars in DeSoto ISD to soar and, to do that, we need talent that knows how to fly.”

DeSoto ISD is trying to fill positions at DeSoto High School in the following areas with professionals:

  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • English
  • Special Education
  • Criminal Justice

These positions are available for immediate hire and will qualify, as appropriate, for the district's series of stipends and incentives announced earlier this year.

“Not only will DeSoto ISD offer competitive salaries and bonuses which could offer up to an additional $29K in incentive pay for teachers, but we also offer a significant healthcare benefit contribution to staff and access to free mental and emotional healthcare plus two mental health days per year,” said Mia Stroy, chief of human resources.

The DeSoto High School Teacher Recruitment Event is open to all eligible professionals. Walk-ins are welcome.
