The DeSoto Independent School District values the connectedness and engagement of the school community to the district’s progress and direction and announces its next series of public meetings with the DeISD Board of Trustees.

Earlier this school year, the District announced a new cadence for school board meetings for the upcoming 22-23 academic school year. While the two-meeting format will continue, during the next two months the district will have a single board meeting structure scheduled for November 14 and December 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the ISC Boardroom, respectively.

The meetings will include both the monthly Progress Monitoring and business-related agenda items for the board’s information, discussion, and consideration for action.

During both meetings, public comments related to agenda and non-agenda items will be allowed. All comment cards must be submitted to the board prior to the start of the board meeting and all submissions must be read by the submitting party.

The DeSoto ISD school board will also host its second installment of the Bi-Monthly Town Hall series on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. The town hall will include a question-and-answer section for the school community at the conclusion of the board’s presentation. The topics of this meeting will include the following:

  • District Improvement Plan Overview
  • Texas Instruments STEM Grant Update
  • Community Dialogue/Q&A
  •  Current Board Goals Data and Progress

DeSoto ISD values its opportunities to collaborate with its city partners; however, the the first of two annual Joint DeSoto ISD School Board, DeSoto and Glen Heights City Council meetings originally scheduled for November 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the DeSoto High School Academy Cafeteria located at 600 Eagle Drive has been postponed.

The meetings are all open to the public. The agendas for these meetings will be posted in accordance with the open meetings act based on the scheduled meeting date.
