DeSoto ISD is partnering with Allied Health to provide an immunization clinic for district students.  Families who may be behind schedule on certain shots may use this opportunity to catch up.  This is also a prime opportunity to be prepared for the 2022-23 school year by getting any required updates now.

Texas school and child-care facility immunization requirements are determined by the state legislature and set by the Texas Department of State Health Services, in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency.  Maintaining adequate immunization rates in schools is critical to preventing disease outbreaks and ensuring the health of Texas children. Childhood vaccinations are so important because young immune systems are more vulnerable to diseases and illnesses.

Allied Health will provide all recommended vaccines for children ages 0- 18 years.  The administration fee for the visit is $10 per child (without Medicaid).   This fee covers the entire visit, regardless of how many shots the child may need.  Families covered by Medicaid are not charged an administrative fee once they provide their coverage documentation.  All immunizations will be registered in the ImmTrac system.

The immunization clinic will be held at the former East Middle School campus located at 610 E. Belt Line Road in DeSoto on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday March 3 from 5 to 7 pm each day.  The entrance access will be on the west side of the building near Parks road. Masks are still required per district mask mandate.

No registration is required, but parents/guardians must accompany minor children.  Student and parent IDs will need to be presented for existing students, and proof of residency for new students.
