At the Monday, November 15, 2021, DeSoto Independent School District Board meeting, trustees approved the appointment of the new principal of Woodridge Elementary.

DeSoto ISD School Board Town Hall Meeting Notes Monday, September 14, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.

The DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees will host an in-person town hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, inside the DeSoto ISD Boardroom located at the district’s Instructional Support Center.

As of Sept. 1, 2021, DeSoto ISD will no longer offer virtual public comments in full compliance with the Open Meetings Act as written in statute.

DeSoto ISD will comply with Dallas County’s recent order which requires public schools to implement a mask mandate.

The DeSoto ISD Board is scheduled to have a workshop meeting Aug. 16, during which time they will address this matter. Following the workshop, the District will provide more guidance on its position regarding mask requirements.

The DeSoto ISD trustees recognized Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students in the district who scored in the 99th percentile on their math and reading ISIP universal screener assessments in May 2021. These students ranked in the Top 1% percentile in these subjects amongst students in their grade level across the nation.

During the Monday, May 24, 2021, DeSoto ISD regular board meeting, trustees nominated and elected the 2021-22 board officers.

DeSoto ISD and the City of Glenn Heights invite the community to participate in the upcoming virtual joint board meeting on April 13 at 7:00 PM.

For March 2021, both the DeSoto ISD Trustees and District Administration shared a glimpse of the next series of Corrective Action Plans which will become active next month.

Several major entities in DeSoto and Glenn Heights are launching an effort to better position these communities to serve residents with hopes of improving visibility, economic development and attraction to the area.
