She doesn’t just buy designer handbags, she buys real estate and builds generational wealth. DeSoto ISD is excited to have Benaisha Poole-Watson volunteer to be a role model and partner for district students.

With a stated mission to “empower and inspire, as many people as I can, to create generational wealth from real estate,” Ms. Poole-Watson personally launched the new district partnership with a visit to donate school supplies and speak to students.  During her meeting with DeSoto High School students, she announced that her company is funding a scholarship for interested DHS seniors planning to attend real estate school by August of 2023.

Poole-Watson’s story is as compelling as it is motivating.  “She IS Black Girl Magic,” declared DeISD Superintendent Usamah Rodgers. “It is so great for our students to be able to meet someone who has a similar background or upbringing who has been able to do amazing things.  It’s important for the district to help students make this real-world connection and help them understand that anything is possible when you work hard and believe in yourself.”

Born in Los Angeles, California to an immigrant mother from Guatemala and African-American father from Detroit, Michigan who migrated to Los Angeles, Poole-Watson completed high school with honors at age 17.  She later earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, a Double Master’s degree in Public Administration and Political Management from George Washington University and a law degree from The University of Maryland.  After a 9-year stint in the U.S. Air Force, she began a lucrative corporate career, traveling and relocating to various points around the states.  When she landed in Dallas, corporate life changed.  A faith-guided person, she prayed to God and was led to obtaining her real estate license in Texas.  During her first year selling real estate she sold 200 houses.  Now, she owns a real estate empire with over 200 real estate agents across the USA.  Her diversified investment portfolio includes ownership of numerous realty properties, restaurants, and now a bank! She has been featured in Black Enterprises magazine as a 1% realtor in America (July 2022) and in ThinkRealty providing insights for veterans interested in real estate.  She is a featured speaker at conferences including Thomas Financial's “The Business Building Summit” and the upcoming Master P’s “I’m the Biggest Boss Business Conference” and TD Jakes “Pathway to Prosperity Mega Conference.”  Her newest restaurant is opening soon in Cedar Hill.

Poole-Watson’s brands include:

  • Bailey-Watson Real Estate Group

  • Benaisha Poole-Watson Enterprises

  • Prime One Home Loans

  • Prime One Network

Patiently addressing DeSoto High student questions, Poole-Watson shared encouragement beyond the scholarship offer, revealing “I was chasing goals and dreams that weren’t mine until I learned to follow my purpose and passion.”

“It was good to know her experience in the real estate career path, it was very nice of her to come here to talk to us about it," stated DHS Senior Ladoria Wade, treasurer of DHS’ Business Professionals Club.

From DHS, Poole-Watson visited Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy where she read to a kindergarten class in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.  The book, “Dreamers” by Yuyi Morales, encouraged students to remember that we are all dreamers, bringing our own strengths wherever we roam.  Following the reading, students happily gathered for a photo.

“We have robust career and technical education programs at DeSoto High School and for our students who are interested in entrepreneurship or real estate as a business to go with no cost to real estate school and be mentored by such a successful realtor is something that we’re really excited about and most appreciative of Ms. Poole-Watson for joining in partnership with us,” said an enthused Superintendent Rodgers.
