DeSoto ISD students have returned to school and we are ready to help them move forward!

  • As a district, we had an exciting first day of school that yielded warm greetings and lots of smiling faces.

  • As we welcomed students and their families into district schools, we worked through some minor challenges and put together strategies for the more long-term solutions that will support better, more efficient responsiveness and customer service to our families.

  •  Thanks to our TEAM - students, parents, staff and community – for coming together to get the job done.  Monday was overall a WIN!

  • Special thanks to the first day greeters from our business and partnerships community who showed up bright and early to participate in providing a warm welcome to our students as they entered district schools.

  • Equally exciting as welcoming our first day of school in DeSoto ISD, was the opportunity to announce and celebrate the district academic accountability rating of a “B”--a significant improvement on the district’s previous accountability ratings and a demonstration of the potential and excellence that resides in 75115 and 75154.

  • Tuesday.  Who could have imagined the trauma placed on us from outside this community and district!  But again, our TEAM rallied – led by our brave men and women in blue!

  • Many thanks to the DeSoto Police Department for their expert handling of this situation – all the way to an arrest of the suspected culprit.  It is an honor to be served and protected by you!

  • We never wanted to test our safety and security measures so soon, but we made it through with no injuries!   Thank you to the City of DeSoto for the warm welcome reception to add a balm to this day!

  • Wednesday – Hump Day – We’re still moving strong.  Our TEAM is working our processes, identifying and solving problems and coming together to achieve our goals.  We had a productive School Board meeting on the timely topic of Safety helping refine our strategies even more.

  • As we close out the week, we’re committed to the continuation of TEAMwork because we know it takes all of us to get the job done.  Thanks to those who have learned and followed processes, including dress code and busing.  Thanks to those who have provided timely and constructive criticism to help us refine processes to ensure they are the best to help us achieve our ultimate goal.

  •  We are a TEAM and we know TEAMwork makes the DREAM work.  So let’s go TEAM DESOTO!  It’s time to FLY!!
