Continuing a longstanding DeSoto ISD tradition, students from all district campuses were invited to submit entries of original artwork to compete for the cover of the annual holiday greeting card. The district typically mails over 200 greeting cards to area stakeholders and sister districts during the holidays, historically showcasing the artistic talents of our students. Artwork submitted by the stated deadline goes through a preliminary review for originality, content, spelling, and grammar. Those entries passing all criteria are displayed at the central office for staff and volunteers to vote for their favorite submission. The entries receiving the 10 highest votes are selected for the printed greeting card, with the highest vote entry on the cover and the remaining 9 on the back of the card.
Over 40 entries were submitted by the November 10 deadline, with 30 passing the preliminary review.
Voting was held at the Instructional Support Center on November 16, and the top ten finalists were selected.
