DeSoto High School Alumnus Alex Holley, Now a Professional Boxer
DeSoto ISD is excited to celebrate the continued success of DeSoto High School alumnus Alex Holley, who literally fought his way into a professional boxing career and is now contracted with World Boxing Association Welterweight World Champion Errol Spence Jr. as of July 2023.
Holley’s personal story is one of perseverance and transformation and shows the tenacity and impact of DeSoto Independent School District educators who continued to guide students like Holley regardless of the difficulty.
Now 21 years old, Holley is entering the career of his dreams and giving back to his community by spending quality time with other youth when he is not training. He appreciates the opportunity to encourage them to redirect their anger and raw emotions into something more positive and respectable.
“I want to show youth that if I can do it, they can do it,” said Holley. “I’m fulfilling my dreams. There is no dream too small.”
