District Statement Regarding Passing of DHS Class of 2022 Graduate Daylon B. Todd
It is with great sadness that district administrators received news of the passing of recent graduate Daylon Burroughs-Todd.
Burroughs-Todd will be greatly missed by his family, teachers, and peers.
DeSoto ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Usamah Rodgers said, “Each and every student is a valuable member of our school community. When our grads go off into the world, we have incredible dreams for them so when something like this happens, its always a difficult reality to process. DeSoto ISD extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Burroughs-Todd.”
As a result of this loss to the DeSoto ISD family, the district will provide grief counseling to staff and students to support them as they process this news. Social-emotional supports for students and staff will include restorative circles and individual counseling.
