September Board Meeting Promos

The DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees will host a series of community meetings in the coming ten-day period. The Monday, September 19, 2022, meeting will serve as the start of the Board’s 2022-2023 monthly two-meeting schedule which will feature a student achievement data meeting on the third Monday of each month and a district business meeting on the fourth Monday of each Monday. In addition to the twice-monthly cadence of regular board meetings focused on student achievement data and district business, this month the Board will host the first of its bi-monthly town hall meetings in accordance with its Lone Star Governance guidelines.

Following the Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, student achievement data meeting, the Board will host a business meeting at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022, ahead of an in-person town hall at 7:30 p.m. on the same evening,  inside the DeSoto ISD Boardroom located at the district’s Instructional Support Center (ISC) located at 200 E. Belt Line Road in DeSoto.

As aligned with the Board’s intent to provide regular updates and interactive discussions to the school community per the district’s CAP plan, the forum is held as an installment in a series of bi-monthly town halls to be facilitated by the Board.

The town hall is an opportunity for the DeSoto ISD school board to provide an update to its stakeholders regarding its current focus and priorities and to engage with parents, staff, students, and the community.

This month’s meeting will cover information regarding the district’s ongoing effort to respond and enhance the proactive address of safety and security and recap the district’s STAAR performance.
The Board of Trustees will also provide an update regarding the governing body’s Lone Star Governance progress and experience. The bi-monthly town hall meetings will also allocate time and space for attendee questions and community discussions with board members and administrators.

Those who cannot attend the in-person board meetings or bi-monthly town hall forums are invited to view them online at:
