During the January 24, 2022, DeSoto Independent School District board meeting, trustees approved an amendment to the 2021-2022 district academic calendar to exchange the inclement weather makeup day of April 18 with the regular school day of May 23, 2022.
This will make April 18, 2022, a regular school attendance day for all students and May 23, 2022, an inclement weather day for all students and staff.
This change was requested by the district administration to accommodate an essential time adjustment for the upcoming class of 2022 DeSoto High School Graduation ceremony which is now scheduled to take place at noon on May 23, 2022, at Globe Life Park.
Additionally, this amendment will allow high school families and staff to attend the graduation ceremony without the implications and conflicts that can arise regarding campus staffing levels and school attendance.
DeSoto ISD is aware that this communication may require some personal scheduling adjustments for our families and is sharing this information to ensure that our families have ample time to prepare for this shift in our calendar dates.
The 2021-22 academic calendar has been revised to reflect this update.
