The 2021 DeSoto High School Girls Basketball Team brought home the State Championship title for the first time in school history! On April 27, the district will host a community-wide celebration scheduled to take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in front of their home court, the Chris Dyer Gymnasium (600 Eagle Drive).
The celebration will honor this history-making team of scholar-athletes, their coaches and support staff as DeSoto ISD makes a special presentation to the team and their fans.
The Lady Eagles went 21-2 in the regular season, won all six of their playoff games, and then took the championship at the Alamodome in San Antonio in a 53-37 win over Cypress Creek in which Lady Eagles senior guard Kendall Brown, who committed to play college basketball at the University of Houston, scored a team-high 12 points and junior forward Sa’Myah Smith received UIL MVP honors.
