DeSoto ISD to Host Info Sessions for Parents of Academically Talented Scholars
DeSoto ISD's mission is to ensure students, without exception, learn and grow at their highest level which is why the district will provide an informational session to provide an overview of programs and opportunities accessible to scholars in first through 12th grade and their families to support academic success and acceleration.
From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., DeSoto ISD staff will provide information regarding referrals, testing, and placement procedures for Gifted and Talented scholars. The meeting will also provide an overview of the Baylor TIP program including talent identification and development. Parents will also receive information regarding additional opportunities to support student growth and parent resources to support academically rigorous experiences for their children.
Because DeSoto ISD aspires for every student to reach their potential, the goal of the Oct. 5 informational meeting is to assist parents and students in understanding Gifted and Talented services and experiences in the district in preparation for college readiness.
