Each campus administrative team will select the teachers and the district will announce the winners during the month prior to their usage.

“We appreciate the hard work of teachers who do so much,” Stallings General Manager Brian Heiser said. “We just wanted to let them know we see them and applaud their efforts, and hopefully encourage them to fight on!”

Hyundai Genesis Sales Manager Joshua Brutcher and Valet Administrator David Martinez made the first announcement at the regular September meeting of the DeSoto ISD School Board to a very surprised teacher of the month, Ms. Patricia Boyd from The Meadows Elementary School, one of the district’s three “B” rated campuses.

Boyd is described by her principal, Mr. Leon Darden, as an exceptional educator whose classroom approach is intertwined with love and sternness.

Ms. Boyd shared that she, “marvels at planting S.E.E.D.S. and watching them grow to be Smart, Effective, Efficient, and Determined Students and helping each of them fully reach their individual academic potential.”

In addition to the teacher recognition program, the Stallings Hyundai and Genesis of Dallas dealerships and DeSoto ISD are exploring collaborative options to support the district’s Career and Technical Education Automotive programs. DeSoto High School CTE Teachers, Terry Edwards and Grayson Brown, were present at the board meeting to meet Stallings Service Director Jim Orta and continue the dialogue beginning with tours of each facility.

“DeSoto ISD is grateful for the support of our corporate partners who help us develop our students’ young minds to
help them grow into productive citizens and future workforce,” DeISD Superintendent D’Andre Weaver said.

“We’ve faced challenges over the past few years, but we are making our way back with the help of our community.
‘Together, We Will’ is so much more than a tag line, it’s our new way of life!”

With access to the full luxury of the Genesis brand, Ms. Boyd will receive her vehicle by concierge delivery at the campus on October 1. The remaining district campuses will recognize teachers each month through next summer.
