The Dallas County Promise program offers free tuition to all class of 2018 students in DeSoto ISD, regardless of income or grade point average, at any Dallas County Community College District school for 60 credit hours, or three years. Additionally, students will be given a success coach to help them navigate college. Upon graduation of DCCCD, students will have the opportunity to transfer to the University of North Texas at Dallas or Southern Methodist University. UNT Dallas will offer free tuition, the cost of classes, to all Dallas County Promise students. SMU will offer free tuition to students who meet income and grade requirements. 

To enter the program, students must complete the online pledge form at dallascountypromise.org before Jan. 31, 2018. Additionally, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid and list DCCCD by March 15. Students must complete DCCCD class registration for the fall 2018 semester by July 31, 2018.

DeSoto High School is one of 31 schools participating in this new program.
