The Lady Eagles
volleyball team returns to the court this fall, aiming to build on momentum and
sharpen its competitive edge. Known for its athleticism and
tenacity, the program enters the 2025 season led by Head Coach Jaimie Johnson ready
to challenge opponents and climb in district standings.
Last year, the Lady Eagles finished fourth in
district play with a 25-16 overall record, ending the season above .500 and
eager to build on that success.
With strong leadership and an emphasis on
teamwork, the team is honing its communication, serve-receive strategies and
net play to continue to compete at the highest level. Off the court, the
program continues to foster a culture of academic accountability and personal
integrity.
“This group is locked in and ready to compete,”
Johnson said. “We’ve set high expectations for this season, on the court and in
the classroom. Our focus has been on communication, consistency and confidence.
Our returning players are setting the tone, and our newcomers are stepping up.
I expect us to push harder, grow stronger and compete at a level that reflects
the pride and tradition of DeSoto volleyball.”
This year, the squad will rely on experienced
returners and newcomers eager to make an impact. The coaching staff is focused
on developing well-rounded student-athletes who bring energy and confidence to
every match.
As DeSoto ISD champions the theme
“Constructing Our Future,” the volleyball team demonstrates how daily effort
and team spirit build winning habits on and off the court.
