DeSoto Native Ar’maj Reed-Adams Continues District’s Legacy Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft
As the 2026 NFL Draft commences, DeSoto Independent School District proudly celebrates one of its own, Ar'maj Reed-Adams, a 2020 graduate, who is preparing to take the next step toward a professional football career.
A standout alumnus of DeSoto High School, Reed-Adams represents the continuation of a strong and growing tradition of excellence. Widely recognized as a premier NFL talent pipeline, DeSoto High School has produced numerous draft picks and active professional players, including Super Bowl MVP Von Miller.
The school’s legacy includes an impressive list of NFL talent such as Byron Murphy II, Laviska Shenault Jr., Ed Ingram, and Jalen Mills—a reflection of a program that consistently develops athletes capable of competing at the highest level. DeSoto High School has also produced additional NFL players including Tatum Bell, James Proche, Patrick Crayton, Ellis Hobbs, and A.J. Green.
This sustained success has positioned DeSoto among the top high schools in Texas for producing NFL talent, with a reputation for developing first- and second-round caliber players and preparing student-athletes for long-term success.
Reed-Adams’ journey reflects that tradition. After beginning his collegiate career at University of Kansas, he transferred to Texas A&M University, where he emerged as a key contributor on the offensive line. During his senior season, he earned Second-Team All-American honors, starting 12 games and anchoring the Aggies’ front.
At 6’5 ¾” and 314 pounds, Reed-Adams brings size, strength, and experience to the guard position. His performance at the 2026 NFL Combine—including a 5.28-second 40-yard dash—demonstrated his readiness to compete at the next level. Analysts project him as a late-round selection with strong potential to develop into a valuable contributor.
Reed-Adams’ success is also a point of pride for the district family, as he is the son of DeSoto ISD Human Resources staff member Crystal Reed, further deepening the connection between his achievements and the DeSoto ISD community.
His path to the NFL reflects both individual determination and the strength of the DeSoto football program, which continues to cultivate talent through discipline, coaching, and a culture of excellence.
The 2026 NFL Draft will air live starting Thursday, April 23, 2026, through Saturday, April 25, 2026, on NFL Network and stream via NFL+.
As Reed-Adams prepares for this milestone moment, the DeSoto community celebrates not only his achievements, but also the enduring legacy of excellence that continues to define DeSoto High School.
