Following an exciting victory over Southlake Carroll to secure a spot in the state championship, DeSoto Independent School District invites the community to rally behind the DeSoto Eagles Football Team as they prepare for the UIL 6A Division II State Championship.

The district will host a community sendoff celebrating the Eagles’ historic playoff run at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at DeSoto High School’s Eagle Stadium located at 700 Eagle Drive in DeSoto. Students, families, staff, alumni, and community members are encouraged to attend and show their Eagle pride as the team heads to Arlington for the state final.

“This team has shown resilience, discipline, and heart throughout the season,” said Claude Mathis, Head Football Coach of the DeSoto Eagles. “Advancing to the state championship is a testament to the commitment of our players, coaches, and the unwavering support of the DeSoto community. We’re proud to represent DeSoto on the biggest stage.”

Fans attending the game are encouraged to dress in camo attire and come ready to support the Eagles as they compete for the 2025 UIL 6A Division II State Championship title.
