DeSoto Independent School District is proud to announce the launch of Eagle Pride: Constructing Our Future, a new weekly spotlight initiative designed to celebrate the students and staff who exemplify the district’s core values and are helping shape the future of DeSoto ISD.

Each week, the district will highlight one student and one staff member whose actions, character, and contributions reflect PRIDE—the values that guide DeSoto ISD’s work every day: Purpose, Results, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence.

“This initiative is about more than recognition; it’s about storytelling,” said DeSoto ISD Chief Communications Officer Tiffanie Blackmon-Jones. “Our students and staff are the foundation of our success. By sharing their stories, we are showing our community what Eagle Pride looks like in action and how we are collectively constructing a strong future for DeSoto ISD.”

The spotlight series aligns with the district’s 2025–2026 theme, Constructing Our Future, which emphasizes growth across three key areas:

  • Physical buildings and learning spaces, including improvements made possible by the district’s historic $199 million bond

  • People and behaviors, recognizing the daily commitment and leadership of students and staff

  • Innovative programming that supports the whole child and the whole adult

Each feature will offer a personal look at the selected individuals—highlighting their motivations, accomplishments, and the impact they make within their schools and departments. Spotlights will be shared across district communication channels, including the DeSoto ISD website, social media platforms, and newsletters.

The initiative also supports a broader goal of strengthening trust and connection with families, community members, and stakeholders by humanizing the district and intentionally elevating positive examples of excellence and character.

“Eagle Pride is not just something we say; it’s something we live,” said Blackmon-Jones. “This series allows our community to see the heart behind our work and the incredible people who are building new horizons for DeSoto ISD.”

Weekly spotlights will begin in February and will continue throughout the school year.
