DeSoto ISD Hosts Pre-K Round Up Registration Assistance and Campus Tours on Saturday, April 11, 2026
DeSoto Independent School District will host its annual Pre-K Round Up Registration Assistance and Campus Tour on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Amber Terrace Early Childhood Learning Center, located at 224 Amber Lane in DeSoto. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is designed to help families of soon-to-be three- and four-year-old scholars prepare for a successful start to their learning journey.
Families attending the event will receive guidance in creating an online enrollment account or confirming access to an existing family enrollment account. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the campus and meet district representatives from departments including Emergent Bilingual Education (formerly ESL), Special Education Services, Montessori Early Childhood Learning, and Head Start.
Focused on providing a welcoming and engaging environment for young learners, the Pre-K Round Up will feature a KidZone activity space, including face painting, bounce houses, and free concessions such as popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy.
While the event is designed to provide enrollment support and campus tours, actual enrollment will not take place during the event. Families can reserve a time to complete enrollment during registration sessions scheduled from April 1 and 2, 2026, at the Bluebonnet Room located at the DeSoto Civic Center in DeSoto.
Registration Assistance Schedule:
- Wednesday, April 1, 2026: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, April 2, 2026: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday, April 11, 2026: 8:30 a.m. – Noon
Prekindergarten education provides a critical foundation for lifelong learning. To complete early childhood enrollment in DeSoto ISD, families should bring the following materials:
- Original copy of the scholar’s birth certificate
- Scholar’s immunization records
- Scholar’s Social Security card
- Proof of residency (current water, gas, or electricity bill)
- Parent/guardian driver’s license
Children are eligible for public Pre-K in Texas if they are 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026, as defined by the Texas Legislature. Parents can also order a certified birth certificate online through Texas.gov for $22, with services available in both English and Spanish.
