Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy proudly celebrates Skylar Day, a sixth‑grade scholar whose leadership, character, and commitment to excellence make her a standout member of the campus community. Involved in both the Superintendent Student Advisory and serving as a Peer Mediator, Skylar consistently models maturity beyond her years and a genuine dedication to helping others.
Skylar identifies most strongly with the PRIDE value of P for Pride, demonstrating it through her work ethic, responsible decision‑making, and the integrity she brings to the classroom each day. She approaches learning with determination and takes ownership of her academic success, striving to do her best in every task.
Motivated by her supportive parents, sister, teachers, and peers, Skylar credits her village with giving her the encouragement she needs to excel. She pays that support forward by strengthening her school community—resolving conflicts peacefully as a Peer Mediator and representing student voices with confidence and insight as a Superintendent Student Advisor.
This year, Skylar is working toward her long‑term goal of becoming an architectural designer, already practicing professionalism, creativity, and relationship‑building as she prepares for future opportunities. She is especially proud of her nomination to the Superintendent Student Advisory and the impact she makes as a Peer Mediator.
Skylar defines success as achieving her goals while uplifting others, aiming to lead by example and serve as a positive role model for her peers. She is grateful for the many educators who have influenced her journey—especially Counselor Robinson, who has played a meaningful role in supporting her growth.
Looking ahead, Skylar hopes to pursue architecture in college, combining her talents in design, math, and engineering to create innovative spaces that inspire and benefit communities. Her vision, work ethic, and heart for service make her a remarkable young leader and a shining example of Eagle excellence.
