For Mary Davis, integrity is not just a value—it’s a way of life.
Now in her ninth year serving DeSoto ISD as the campus nurse at Frank Moates Elementary, Davis brings more than four decades of nursing experience into every interaction she has with students, staff, and families. Her professional journey—grounded in education from Mountain View College—has shaped a standard of excellence that is both steady and deeply human.
Integrity is the PRIDE value that guides her work. To Davis, integrity means being honest, consistent, and aligned with strong moral principles—so much so that there’s never any question about who she is or how she will show up. She leads and serves with clarity, compassion, and trust.
Her “why” in education is personal. As a child, a teacher showed up for her in a way that made a lasting difference. Today, Davis gives back with that same intentionality—knowing that care offered in the moment can shape the future of a student’s life.
As a nurse, she sees her role as far more than clinical. She supports the whole child and the whole adult, providing medical insight, resources, and reassurance to students, staff, and parents alike. One of the impacts she is most proud of involved guiding a parent toward mental health support for their child—an intervention that improved the student’s well‑being, academic performance, and reduced stress for the entire family.
Davis commitment to excellence is self‑driven. She shows up each day with high expectations of herself, believing that after decades in the profession, excellence should be instinctive—not optional. She remainsgrounded through meditation and prayer, embracing grace and resilience even in challenging moments.
Professionally, she finds inspiration in the transformation of a butterfly—a reminder that struggle builds strength, and growth often reveals beauty on the other side.
Outside of work, Davis enjoys gardening and growing her own vegetables, a reflection of her patience and nurturing spirit.
When she thinks about the future of DeSoto ISD, she’s hopeful. She believes the district will continue to rise as caring individuals come together for the greater good of true education—purposeful, compassionate, and student‑centered.
Mary Davis is more than a nurse.
She is integrity in action—and a powerful example of PRIDE at DeSoto ISD.
