Humphrey Koney, a first-grade student at The Meadows Elementary School, is already building a strong foundation for success through hard work, positive choices and a bright outlook on life.
Motivated by a supportive classroom environment and the opportunity to earn rewards for good grades, Humphrey comes to school each day ready to learn. He takes pride in doing his best, staying focused and completing his work on time — even when lessons become challenging. His consistent effort recently earned him a spot on the “A” honor roll, an accomplishment he is especially proud of this year.
Humphrey most strongly demons the PRIDE value of Determination. Whether tackling challenging math problems or working toward personal goals, he continues to push himself to improve. He is currently focused on strengthening his math skills so he can take on more challenging work in the classroom. His teachers describe him as a role model who shows kindness, honesty, and respect while following school expectations.
Outside the classroom, Humphrey enjoys participating in a horse-riding group and dreams big for his future. He hopes to one day play in the NFL and has also expressed interest in becoming a police officer. For Humphrey, success means “feeling happy and great,” loving his family and making them proud.
With a positive attitude, strong character and determination beyond his years, Humphrey Koney is helping create a bright future for The Meadows Elementary and the larger DeSoto ISD community.
