DeSoto Independent School District (DISD) proudly observes Educational Diagnosticians Week, March 2-6, recognizing the critical role that educational diagnosticians play in supporting student success across the district.

Educational diagnosticians are specially trained professionals who assess, identify, and support the unique learning needs of scholars. By conducting evaluations and collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff, they help ensure that every student receives appropriate academic, social, and emotional interventions tailored to their needs.

In addition to evaluations, educational diagnosticians assist in developing individualized education programs (IEPs), provide guidance on accommodations, and help monitor student progress. Their work is essential in promoting equitable access to learning opportunities and fostering an environment where all students can thrive.

“Educational diagnosticians are an invaluable part of our district team,” said DeSoto ISD Executive Director of Special Populations Stephanie Fuller. “Their expertise ensures that every scholar’s needs are understood and met, helping to lay the foundation for academic success and lifelong learning.”

Through this observance, DeSoto ISD honors the dedication, skill, and impact of its educational diagnosticians and reaffirms its commitment to equitable, student-centered learning.
