DeSoto ISD Students to Explore Aerospace Careers Through Aero Explorer Experience
DeSoto ISD students will have an opportunity to take learning to new heights this fall as Aero Explorer brings hands-on aerospace and STEM experiences to young scholars.
The Aero Explorer experience will take place Oct. 7-8 at the Woodridge Fine Arts Academy gym and will introduce students in pre-K through third grade to the world of aerospace through interactive, age-appropriate learning activities.
Designed to spark curiosity at an early age, the experience will expose students to science, technology, engineering and math concepts while helping them discover careers connected to aviation and aerospace.
Through hands-on exploration, students will have an opportunity to see how classroom learning connects to real-world careers and industries. The experience is also intended to broaden students’ awareness of career possibilities in fields that continue to rely heavily on STEM skills.
Introducing students to these opportunities early supports DeSoto ISD’s commitment to preparing scholars for their futures by helping them explore their interests, develop new skills and begin envisioning the possibilities available beyond the classroom.
The Aero Explorer experience also reflects the district’s focus on providing engaging learning opportunities that encourage creativity, problem-solving and exploration.
A similar Aero Explorer experience is planned for Amber Terrace Early Childhood Learning Center in December, extending the opportunity to additional young scholars across the district.
As DeSoto ISD continues creating pathways for students to explore college and career opportunities, experiences such as Aero Explorer help show scholars that their journey toward future careers can begin at any age.
