DeSoto Independent School District is sharing preliminary results from the May 2, 2026, Board of Trustees election, as reported in the Dallas County Election Night Final Summary.
Based on unofficial results:
- Place 3: Karen E. Lacy received 3,019 votes (100%)
- Place 4: James (JD) Durham received 2,984 votes (100%)
- Place 5: DeAndrea Fleming received 1,937 votes (59.62%), and Abe C. Cooper Jr. received 1,312 votes (40.38%)
These results remain unofficial until canvassed and certified by the DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees.
The Board will formally canvass the election results during a Special Called Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the DeSoto ISD Instructional Support Center, 200 E. Belt Line Road, DeSoto, Texas.
DeSoto ISD extends appreciation to all candidates who participated in the election and to the community members who exercised their right to vote. The district remains committed to strong governance and collaborative leadership in service of all scholars.
