DeSoto Independent School District (ISD) recently hosted its annual Commit to Kinder 2025 registration events on March 26 and 27, 2025, for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. These events provided families with the opportunity to view the campuses and learn about the different programs for their children in the district's prekindergarten and kindergarten programs.
"I like the flow of things. I think they incorporate all aspects — the art, reading. Everything is important, and it’s not just a focus on one thing," said Sierra Orr, who is looking to enroll her children in DeSoto ISD.
The registration events took place at The Meadows Elementary, Cockrell Hill Elementary, Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy, and Woodridge Fine Arts and Gifted Academy on March 26 and 27. During the events, families engaged with school staff, toured the facilities, and learned about the curriculum and programs offered at each campus.
The “campus connection” events emphasized the importance of early childhood education, highlighting that scholars exposed to such programs tend to develop stronger critical and creative thinking skills, outperform their peers academically, and advance further in their careers.
For families who were unable to attend the recent “campus connection” registration events, DeSoto ISD will offer in-person pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration onsite at the DeSoto Civic Center located at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road in DeSoto inside the Bluebonnet Rooms prior to the opening of online enrollment. To complete the enrollment process, families will need the following documents:
Families can visit the district's enrollment page at www.DeSotoISD.org/Enrollment to begin the process. DeSoto ISD remains committed to providing a strong educational foundation for its youngest scholars and looks forward to welcoming new students for the 2025-2026 school year.
