Nominations are open for the DeSoto ISD Hall of Honor Class of 2025 and the DeSoto ISD school community is invited to help shape the next class of inductees. From February 26-March 26, the community is asked to submit nominations via the DeSoto ISD Hall of Honor online form in at least one of two categories - DeSoto High School Alumni Hall of Fame or the DeSoto ISD Distinguished Service Award.
The DeSoto ISD Hall of Honor is a prestigious recognition program developed in 2012 to annually recognize DHS alumni and those who have provided meritorious service to the district, according to a set of stated criteria, listed below and expanded on the district’s website.
At the close of the submission period, all nomination forms will be reviewed by a designated selection committee composed of current and former staff, community leaders, and DHS alumni.
Please note that only the information included in the nomination is considered when determining the selection.
Hall of Honor Selection Criteria Summary
Distinguished Service Award (DSA) - A minimum of 10 years of consistent contribution to the development and improvement of DeSoto ISD is required for nominees to be considered for the Distinguished Service recognition.
Alumni Hall of Fame (HOF) - A minimum of 10 years since graduation from DeSoto High School along with outstanding achievement in their field of endeavor is required for a graduate nominee to be considered for DHS Alumni Hall of Fame recognition (for the 2025 Hall of Honor class, the nominee must have graduated from DHS in 2014 or before).
Posthumous recognition is considered in either category.
Past inductees have included a Hall of Fame coach, an Academy Award winner, and a Super Bowl MVP in the Alumni Hall of Fame, as well as outstanding teachers, influential politicians, and distinguished professionals serving the community for the Distinguished Service Award.
Thousands of educators, parents, community supporters, business people, and elected officials have made significant contributions to the development and improvement of DeSoto ISD.
DeSoto High School has graduated thousands of people with rewarding careers, individuals who touch the lives of others - from artists, elected officials, and CEOs, to doctors, lawyers and entrepreneurs. Celebrate these individuals with a nomination to the DeSoto ISD Alumni Hall of Fame.
Remember that nominations for the 2025 DeSoto ISD Hall of Honor cohort will close on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
