A Historic Achievement

This championship marks a defining moment in DeSoto athletics—the Eagles’ third state title in four years and fourth overall—cementing the program’s legacy as one of the most elite and consistent in Texas high school football.

“This championship reflects the excellence we strive for across DeSoto ISD—discipline, commitment, teamwork, and belief,” said Dr. Usamah Rodgers, Superintendent of DeSoto ISD. “Our student-athletes and coaches represented this district with pride on the biggest stage, and this celebration belongs to our entire community.”

“Our students, staff, families, and alumni all played a role in supporting this team,” said Dr. Leon Darden, Principal of DeSoto High School. “This championship reflects what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose.”

Dominance on the Biggest Stage

The Eagles captured the state crown with a 55–27 victory on December 20, 2025, at AT&T Stadium, showcasing explosive offense, relentless defense, and championship composure.

Game Highlights Include:

  • Legend Howell (QB): 19-of-25 passing, 280 yards, 4 TDs

  • Ethan “Boobie” Feaster (WR): 10 receptions, 167 yards, 2 TDs

  • SaRod Baker (RB): 125 rushing yards, 2 TDs, plus a pick-six

  • Damarion Ross (DB): Defensive MVP with a 94-yard interception return TD

“This championship sets the standard for excellence across DeSoto ISD athletics,” said M.T. Tyeskie, Athletic Director.

“These young men trusted the process and played for something bigger than themselves,” said Claude Mathis, Head Football Coach.

A Celebration for Eagle Nation

This title brings DeSoto ISD’s total to 23 state championships across district athletic programs, reflecting the excellence of the Triple-A Experience: Academics, Arts, and Athletics.

We can’t wait to come together as a community to celebrate this incredible achievement. Thank you for your flexibility and continued support—we look forward to seeing everyone on February 7 as we cheer on our champions in true DeSoto style.
