DeSoto High School Senior Earns Multiple Scholarships Through Girls Flag Football

For DeSoto High School senior Kyndall Green, joining the girls flag football
team wasn’t just about trying a new sport, it was about unlocking her
potential.
Since lacing up her cleats during the program’s inaugural
season, Green has flourished into a standout athlete and student leader.
Now, she’s celebrating a major milestone: multiple scholarship offers to
continue her education and play flag football at the collegiate level.
“I received two scholarships, said Green.”
“I got one scholarship at the championship game from Bethel College and
during the summer I attended the girls’ college combine and received a
scholarship from Texas Wesleyan.”
Green’s journey is a testament to the impact of DeSoto ISD’s commitment to
expanding athletic opportunities for young women. When the district launched
its girls flag football program in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys it
opened the door for students like Green to discover new talents, build
confidence, and earn recognition on and off the field.
In its debut season, the Lady Eagles went undefeated in district play and
captured the district championship title, earning a berth to the Girls Flag
Football State Tournament at The Star in Frisco and
competed for the state championship. The historic run not only made headlines
but also helped solidify the program’s presence in North Texas.
Green credits first year coach Briana Stanley with her development and growth
both as an athlete and as a person. Under Stanley’s leadership, Green honed her
skills, embraced discipline, and took on a leadership role among her teammates.
In addition to her achievements on the field, Green has maintained a strong
academic record and serves as a mentor for younger students. Her story reflects
the growing impact of girl’s flag football in DeSoto ISD, not just as a sport,
but as a vehicle for opportunity, empowerment, and future success.
Green encourages other students who may be
considering joining the team to take that first step, even if the sport is new
to them.
“Work on perfecting your craft and don’t compare yourself to anybody else,
it all comes with hard work and consistency, don’t doubt yourself.”
As DeSoto ISD continues to build pathways for student success through
athletics, academics, and the arts, the district encourages more young women to
explore the opportunities offered through its growing girls flag football
program.
