DeSoto Independent School District proudly announces that the DeSoto High School Dance Company, joined by students from Dance I, II, and III and members of the DeSoto Eaglettes, will take center field at AT&T Stadium during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

The performance is part of the NFL’s Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer campaign, a national initiative dedicated to promoting lifesaving cancer screenings, advancing health equity, and raising awareness about the importance of early detection. Since its inception, Crucial Catch has raised more than $30 million and positively impacted over 1.8 million lives, with a special focus on underserved communities.

DeSoto High School dancers have proudly participated in Crucial Catch performances in prior years and were invited back by the Dallas Cowboys for the 2025 game in recognition of their professionalism, reliability, and leadership. The students are regarded not only as talented performers but also as ambassadors for community service and advocacy, bringing the message of hope and health equity to a national stage.

“Our Fine Arts programs continue to shine because they nurture talent, discipline, and a sense of purpose in our students,” said Twynette Anderson, Director of Fine Arts for DeSoto ISD. “Being invited back to the Crucial Catch halftime show demonstrates the level of excellence our dancers have achieved and how the arts can inspire change beyond the classroom.”

This year’s performance expands opportunities for young dancers by including students from Dance I, II, and III. Participants were selected based on their engagement in class, mastery of choreography, artistic growth, and character as positive representatives of DeSoto ISD.

“Our dancers have worked tirelessly to prepare for this performance,” said Regina Tucker, Director of Dance Ensembles at DeSoto High School. “They embody the values of perseverance, creativity, and service. It’s an incredible honor to see them share their talents on such a prominent stage in support of a cause that truly makes a difference.”

The performance will also feature members of the DeSoto Eaglettes, who have a long-standing tradition of excellence and service.

“Participating in this nationally recognized campaign allows our students to use their artistry to bring awareness to a powerful mission,” said Stephanie Nicholson, Eaglettes Director. “Our dancers are not only showcasing their skills but also advocating for early cancer detection and health equity. That’s something to be proud of.”

The dancers’ participation exemplifies DeSoto ISD’s commitment to arts education that develops technical skill, creativity, and community impact.

“Opportunities like this remind our students that the arts are not just about performance; they are a platform to inspire hope and bring attention to issues that matter,” added Anderson.
