DeSoto ISD has announced an upcoming public hearing to discuss the district’s proposed budget and tax rate for fiscal year 2027. The public meeting offers community members an opportunity to review the financial roadmap, understand its impact on local taxpayers, and voice their input directly to the Board of Trustees.

  • Maintenance Tax Rate: A proposed rate of $0.7552 per $100 of property valuation for maintenance and operations, which represents a 9.88% decrease from the previous year.
  • Bonded Indebtedness Rate: A voter-approved Debt Service Tax rate of $0.4700 per $100 of property valuation to fund the district's bonded indebtedness. This represents a 42.93% increase over last year's rate for this specific category.
  • Total Proposed Rate/Expenditures: The total proposed expenditures and rate structure equal $1.05.
