The DeSoto Independent School District Board of Trustees filing period has concluded, and the candidate list is set for the 2025 Board of Trustees election scheduled for May 3, 2025.
The DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees comprises seven trustees. As provided in DeISD Policy BBB (Local), trustees serve three-year terms and are elected by position with terms staggering a three-year cycle.
Trustee candidate eligibility is defined in DeSoto ISD BBA (Legal).
Places 1 and 2 are scheduled for election this year and the candidates are as noted below:

In addition to the above-referenced election related to trustee positions, the DeSoto ISD will also hold a bond election on the May, 3, 2025, election b allot.
The ballot will reflect three propositions related to a potential bond program which include the following:
The district’s financial advisor has determined that there will be a $0.1554 tax impact to finance this bond. For a home in DeSoto ISD worth $150,000, that would be an impact of $6.48 a month. The district’s 2025 bond package will include three propositions, each voted on separately.

As was noted in relation to the trustee election, DeSoto ISD residents will have the opportunity to vote on the bond referendum beginning with early voting on April 22 – April 29, 2025, and on Election Day, May 3, 2025.
