Cockrell Hill Elementary School will host a festive Cinco de Mayo celebration on Monday, May 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. on the campus. The event is open to all CHE parents and scholars and will feature an evening filled with performances, music, and interactive activities designed to celebrate culture and community.

Students will showcase their talents through performances that highlight cultural traditions, while families enjoy music and engaging experiences that reflect the richness of Hispanic heritage.

Principal Melvylyn “Sissy” Lowe emphasized the importance of cultural celebration and family engagement in the school community.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our scholars and families to come together, celebrate culture, and experience the joy of learning beyond the classroom,” said Principal Lowe. “At Cockrell Hill Elementary, we are committed to honoring diversity and creating meaningful experiences that help our students feel seen, valued, and connected.”

The celebration reflects CHE’s ongoing commitment to fostering cultural appreciation, inclusivity, and strong family-school relationships. By immersing families in shared cultural experiences, the campus continues to strengthen its sense of belonging and community pride.

Families are encouraged to attend and participate in this special evening of celebration, learning, and connection.
