DeSoto ISD Encourages Community Engagement at Upcoming Board Meetings District invites families, staff, and community members to participate in local education governance

The DeSoto Independent School District Board of Trustees
invites families, staff, and community members to engage in the district’s
ongoing governance and decision-making process by attending upcoming DeSoto
ISD Board of Trustees meetings this fall.
The DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees is
committed to ensuring student success through transparent governance, community
engagement, and data-driven decision-making. The Board works collaboratively
with district leadership to maintain a focus on academic excellence, equity,
and accountability across all schools.
Board meetings provide an important opportunity for trustees
to communicate information to and hear directly from the DeSoto ISD
administration, staff, and community members. Through these meetings,
district stakeholders can learn more about academic progress, policy updates,
student success initiatives, and plans that shape the future of DeSoto ISD
schools.
“When our community shows up and participates, it
strengthens our shared commitment to the success of every student,” said DeSoto
ISD Board President Chasiti McKissic. “We encourage parents, students,
and community members to attend board meetings to stay informed, share
perspectives, and take part in the conversations that move our district
forward.”
Dr. Usamah Rodgers, DeSoto ISD Superintendent of Schools,
echoed the importance of collaboration and transparency. “Our Board of
Trustees meetings serve as a vital connection point between district leadership
and the families we serve. Active engagement ensures that the voices of our
community are heard as we work together to deliver an excellent education for
every DeSoto ISD student.”
All meetings are held in the Instructional Support Center
(ISC) Boardroom, located at 200 E. Beltline Road in DeSoto, Texas,
