DeSoto Independent School District has several calendar
observances occurring during the month of October including a Professional
Development Day and student holiday and its Fall Break.
Friday, October 3, 2025, a staff professional development
day, is also a student holiday. Campuses and offices will not be operational
due to staff engagement in professional learning.
Additionally, Monday, October 13, 2025, is designated
as the district‘s Fair Day. Following the district’s designated Fair
Day, the district will observe Fall Break from Tuesday, October 14 through
Friday, October 17, 2025.
During this period, all campuses and district offices
will be closed. Normal business hours and classes will resume on Monday,
October 20, 2025.
This extended break is part of the district’s approved
academic calendar and is designed to give students and staff a mid-semester
pause to recharge before continuing the fall semester.
