DeSoto Independent School District (ISD) is proudly recognizing National Public School Volunteer Week from April 21-25, 2025, a time to celebrate the critical contributions of volunteers who support and enhance the educational experiences of our students. The district invites parents, alumni, and community members to join in the effort to build a stronger, more connected DeSoto ISD through volunteerism.

Kendal Harden, DeSoto ISD Parent Engagement Specialist, shared, “Volunteers are the heartbeat of our district. They bring their energy, passion, and expertise to our classrooms, enriching the lives of our students and strengthening our school community. We’re grateful for the support of our parents, alumni, and community members, and we encourage everyone to get involved during National Public School Volunteer Week.”

During this week, DeSoto ISD will spotlight the essential role volunteers play in shaping the success of students and schools. From providing academic support to fostering positive relationships, volunteers make a lasting impact on the district’s culture and student achievement.

Dr. Usamah Rodgers, Superintendent of Schools, added, “Volunteerism plays a pivotal role in ensuring our students have the best possible educational experience. Whether through mentorship, academic support, or helping to organize school activities, volunteers make a lasting impact on our district’s success. We encourage all who are able to lend their time and talents to the students of DeSoto ISD.”
