The experience will expose students to science, technology, engineering and math concepts while helping them discover careers connected to aviation and aerospace.

DeSoto ISD will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with cultural learning activities throughout the district and a districtwide carnival from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 8 at DeSoto High School.

Amber Terrace Early Childhood Learning Center PTA has earned the 2025-27 National PTA School of Excellence designation, recognizing its work to strengthen family engagement and build meaningful partnerships among families, educators and the community.

DeSoto ISD will host its annual College and Career Fair from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 17 at DeSoto High School.

DeSoto ISD will celebrate its 2026 homecoming with an “All Around the World” theme, featuring a community parade Sept. 23 followed by an MPC Block Party.

Improvements include work nearing completion at the DeSoto High School track, resurfaced tennis courts, new turf at the Multipurpose Center and ongoing track demolition at McCowan Middle School.

The combined rate of taxable property value is down from the previous year and supports district operations and voter-approved bond debt.

A veteran educator with more than 20 years of experience, including previous service as superintendent of Hutto ISD, Dr. Peña will provide leadership and ensure continuity of district operations as the Board conducts its search.
