DeSoto ISD to Host Feb. 5 Signing Day Event
DeSoto High School will host its annual National Signing Day event on Tuesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chris Dyer Gymnasium located at 600 Eagle Drive in DeSoto to celebrate the achievements of its student-athletes who will be committing to play at the collegiate level. The event will highlight the hard work, dedication, and athletic prowess of these students who are taking the next step in their academic and athletic careers.
A list of student-athletes set to sign their National Letters of Intent includes but is not limited to:
- Taryn Bailey – Girls' Track, University of Nevada – Las Vegas (UNLV)
- Skyla Jones – Softball, Coffeyville Community College, Kansas
- Marshall Kirven – Football, Northeastern State University, Oklahoma
- Canden Mathis – Football, University of Texas at Permian Basin
- Cameren Paul – Basketball, Mississippi State University
- Andre Pentecost Jr. – Track, Wichita State University
- Kaleb Thompkins – Baseball, Prairie View A&M University
- Whitney Robinson – Girls' Track, University of Nebraska
This event marks a pivotal moment for these student-athletes, their families, coaches, and the DeSoto community. Media representatives are encouraged to attend and cover this inspiring occasion, which acknowledges the incredible academic and athletic accomplishments of DeSoto High School’s students.
Since 2024, DeSoto ISD and DeSoto Athletics have partnered with Uniball and Paragon Marketing Group to support and promote the National Signing Day event. DeSoto High School is one of only 12 nationally-recognized high school athletics programs involved in this unique collaboration. As part of this partnership, Uniball pens have been designated as the official partner for the November 2024 Signing Period. This collaboration allows student-athletes to enjoy a nationally recognized experience while gaining exposure on PMG’s League Ready social platforms, elevating their signing day celebration with coverage across the country.
