High School EOC Boot Camp - STAAR EOC Retesters

Description: Current high school students who need to meet the requirements of the STAAR assessment, will engage in small group, targeted core instruction based upon students’ learning needs in Biology, Algebra I, English I, English II, and/or U.S. History)

Students that need multiple EOC tests will attend Credit Recovery lab in the PM (Session 2) for 1 additional content test. Course materials may be accessed online from home.


 

High School Credit Recovery

Frequently Asked Question Description: Summer school offers students the opportunity to take courses for Credit Recovery or Credit Acceleration. Courses are divided into two semesters. Each semester counts ONE half credit. Students can sign up for either ONE half-credit course or TWO courses each worth a half credit. If a student needs to attain or regain credit for a full year-long course, the student would need to complete both semesters of the course.

For each course listed, there is a Semester I & Semester II offering. Courses cost $150 per semester half-credit for in-district & $300 per semester for out-of-district students. Course(s) and must be paid in full before the course begins. Once students begin a course, students are not eligible for refunds.

Description: In order for students to matriculate through their degree plan, those that have failed courses, are trying to get ahead (because it won’t fit in their schedule), or are just becoming TSI met are required to take courses during the CVC Summer I session.


T-STEM Summer Camp

Description: TexPREP is a mathematics-based, academic enrichment program open to middle and high school students. It emphasizes the development of abstract reasoning and problem-solving skills and helps students prepare for careers in the fields of mathematics, science, technology, and engineering. The program includes coursework, team projects, class presentations, examinations, career awareness speakers, field trips, and special events.

Description: Geek Squad Academy from Best Buy provides opportunities for students to develop tech skills, build self-confidence, spark curiosity, and discover how technology can benefit them in their educational pursuits in future careers. Students at Geek Squad Academy become “Junior Agents” and get hands-on experience with some of the newest and coolest technology. Local Best Buy employees help the Junior Agents explore areas like coding, film production, photography, 3D design, digital music, and much more.

N.I.A. Kids
