DeSoto Independent School District!

Whether you are a returning substitute or a first-time applicant, we want your experience in DeSoto to be a positive one for both you and our students.

Please use the information on this page to help you navigate through the substitute system from submitting an application, accessing online training to providing answers to questions you may have regarding your substitute experience.

Substitute Teacher Applications are being accepted for the 2017-2018 School Year.

Substitute Teacher Requirements

  •           60 or more college credit hours OR
  •           Hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral degree OR
  •           Certified Teacher

Application Process:

1)   Submit your Online Substitute Application: CLICK HERE

 

2)   Complete the 20 hours of Required Training: CLICK HERE

    a)     Complete the online registration 
      - select DeSoto ISD as the "Division"
i)      Click on Learning
ii)     Click on Browse for Training
iii)    Click on Introductory Teacher Training (for Substitute Teachers)

 b)    Add to Cart -  submit $20 non-refundable fee

3)   Email your Certificate of Completion to: substitute@desotoisd.org


After you completed the Substitute Teacher Training, your fingerprints will need to be requested from TEA. If they are not previously on file, The State Board for Educator Certification, SBEC, will issue a FAST pass for you to make an appointment with IdentoGO via http://www.identogo.com. A
n acknowledgment email will be sent with details regarding TEA Fingerprint request as well as the details of the orientation event.

If your application does not meet the above criteria, you
will not be contacted.
