I Am an American!

The student pictured above is our very own 4th Grader Kennedy Compton, Ruby Young Elementary School

Each year by Federal and State Law we have the opportunity to celebrate the founding documents of our Great Country, such as the United States Constitution which was adopted on September 17, 1787.

Therefore, "Celebrate Freedom Week" for DeSoto ISD will always be during the first week of School, August 21-25, 2017. DeSoto ISD will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 18th.

On our district curriculum site, each teacher has access to a folder with detailed websites, pictures, lesson plans and a United Streaming Video that they will share with the students.

Organized activities for this week include:

Monday

“Express yourself”, what can you do to help shape America?

Tuesday

“Quote Day”, bring your favorite quote from an american leader/artist

Wednesday

“College Day”, wear your favorite college t-shirt

Thursday

“American Heritage”, show your American Heritage dressing in your cultural attire

Friday

“Hat Day”, wear your favorite american team hat or attire

Listed below you will find some direct websites that will help you learn more about our constitution.
