We often look to our past to determine our future, outlining our path for a safe and better tomorrow-- that is History. Social Studies have eight (8) strands: History, Geography, Economics, Government, Citizenship, Culture, Science, technology, and society, and Social Studies Skills.
In grades K-3, students learn how to become a citizen, map skills, and important facts about historical figures. Grades 4, 7 will study Texas History, Grades 5, 8, 11: U.S. History, Grades 6, 9 will study World Cultures and World Geography. And Grade 10, World History.
