Social Studies

Can you remember the first book you ever read or your first time going to school?  My desire is to open the hearts of each and every student, teacher, and administrators’ first educational experience that will ignite a passion for learning.  I am Kizzy Miller, an educator whose passion, zeal, and desire for student and teacher success drives me every day. I am a native of Ruleville, Mississippi, home of Fannie Lou Hamer, Civil Rights Activist.  I have served DeSoto ISD for 18 years.   I am the District’s Instructional Social Studies Supervisor.  I come from a family of educators and I have always had great people positioned in my path to guide me through my educational experiences. I completed my undergraduate degree from Jackson State University, Masters of Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and administrative certification from Lamar University.  I enjoy traveling the world, baking, and exposing my son, Oliver to the wonderful world of books.
