VaLissa is a Desoto High School alumni class of 2003. After serving as a student athletic trainer under the direction of Scott Galloway, she went on to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training at The University of Texas-Arlington.
In 2008 VaLissa began her professional career as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Dallas ISD Sports Medicine Department. During her 6 year tenure, she participated in 3 Basketball State Championships with Kimball High School.
After taking two years off to focus on her family, VaLissa was happy to be given the opportunity to resume her career in DeSoto ISD and work with her longtime mentor Scott Galloway. She has always been passionate about caring for student-athletes and molding the next generation of athletic trainers.
For the past 5 years VaLissa has also been the owner of STATS Sports Medicine, a company that provides contract athletic trainers in the DFW area. She is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association to practice as an athletic trainer.
