Christopher McMahan is a military veteran who served in the United States Army until 2003. He comes to us as a graduate of Cedar Hill High School. He holds a bachelors degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of Houston. After spending time in the fitness/physical therapy settings, Chris decided to pursue the profession of Sports Medicine. He obtained a Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is Licensed by the state of Texas as an Athletic Trainer.
Chris has worked in many different educational and clinical settings ranging from collegiate Division 1 track & field, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, high school football, and clinical physical therapy just to name a few. He has worked with athletic trainers and orthopedic surgeons from Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Arlington, and high schools from around the DFW surrounding area.
Chris’ primary assignment will be working with the student-athletes at West Middle School while also assisting with the high school student athletes. Chris is very excited to join the DeSoto Eagles Sports Medicine team and eager to learn from the best athletic training staff in the nation. Go Eagles!
