ACE After School Program

New Ace Logo

Texas Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program is one of the largest statewide after-school programs in the country. The district provides tutorials for students before and after school, enrichment activities for students to explore science, technology, and the arts. In addition, the district provides activities and training that help families support their students to be successful at school. The overarching goal of the program is to foster each student's academic success by improving attendance, behavior, and academics which lead to grade-level promotion, graduation and helping students be more prepared for college and the workplace.

DeSoto ISD offers a free after-school program at each of our six (6) elementary campuses for grades K-5 and also at three (3) middle school campus sites for grades 6-8. The program will be academic and enrichment based and will allow the students to extend their studies and grow socially through a consistent structure from the district.

The ACE Afterschool Program is a free, federally funded program and enrollment is on a first come first serve basis per grade levels.  Each grade level will have a number of slots to fill.  Once filled, parents will go onto wait-list which has a limited number of spots.

The following campus sites will have open enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year:

    Cockrell Hill Elementary School
    Meadows Elementary School
    Moates Elementary School
    Woodridge Elementary School
    Ruby Young Elementary School
