Last month, leaders from DeSoto ISD, the City of DeSoto and the City of Glenn Heights made a major announcement regarding the launch of a community-wide initiative focused on collaboration and interdependent work to improve and elevate the DeSoto and Glenn Heights communities.

The community-wide partnership strategy will require the active engagement of the community.

Residents of DeSoto, Glenn Heights and Ovilla are invited to participate in the following virtual event to learn more about the North Star Initiative:

DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees and Glenn Heights City Council Joint Meeting

Tuesday, April 13, 2021--7 PM

The DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees will hold a joint meeting with the Glenn Heights City Council to discuss this initiative and other matters at 7 PM on Tuesday, April 13 via the City of Glenn Heights Facebook page

This meeting is a continuation of the conversation featured in the March 20 State of the District virtual meeting sponsored by the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce which focused on the work of the community North Star vision statement:

All people live in safe, multicultural communities, have the highest quality education, and are financially strong and empowered.

During the April 13 joint meeting, the community entities will continue their efforts to develop a concrete framework for the collaborative initiative including the development of  interlocal agreements for how the entities will work together, each entity's role in realizing the community vision and action steps to bring the vision to life.
