The Infinite Scholars Program Invites District Students to College-Scholarship Fair
DESOTO - The Infinite Scholars Program invites Desoto ISD students in grades six to twelve to attend the 11th Annual Free College - Scholarship fair on Saturday, January 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Baptist Church located at 115 W. Belt Line Road in DeSoto, Texas.
“This college fair is designed to ensure that all students are given multiple options to explore where they would like to attend college with the possibility of obtaining scholarships,” said Infinite Scholars Program Chairperson Anita Perry, Ph.D. “This is our mission and our goal for each student.”
While there is no registration requirement to attend the fair and all middle and high school students are welcomed, the seniors will have chance to compete for the $5 million scholarships available at the event when they bring at least ten (10) packets of the following information to share with the colleges/universities awarding scholarships:
• Transcript
• ACT/SAT scores
• Course schedule for the senior year
• Student resume
• Personal statement / essay (Why I want to Attend College?)
• School Profile
• Recommendation letters (3)
Parents are also encouraged to attend this event with their students to obtain information about college admission and requirements, scholarships, FAFSA and other financial aid options, speak with college representatives and attend college & career readiness workshops to help prepare and secure their child’s postsecondary success.
The Infinite Scholars Program is one of the external college access partners of our DeSoto ISD postsecondary programs, such as LETS GEAR Up, Next Gen, To and Through and the GO Center which work together to ensure a successful future for our students.
