April 15, 2019 Communications Update

DeSoto ISD:

At the April 15 Special Called Board Meeting, we will discuss a number of important decisions regarding the 2019-2020 school year including proposed actions to yield a leaner, more focused and fiscally-sound organization.

Difficult times require difficult decisions and, while uncomfortable, these actions are necessary for the long-term health of our organization. As you know, we are working to right the wrongs of the past and reposition DeSoto ISD to successfully transition to the future by implementing a budget reduction strategy, reorganizing our structure, and redesigning our academic programs. Details related to these programs will be outlined at the April 15 special called board meeting and April 22 regular board meeting.

As we continue to work through our challenges, we remain committed to being accountable, communicative and transparent. In turn, we ask that our community listens, seeks accurate information and asks questions to gain an understanding or clarity so that together we are walking forward with an accurate and clearly articulated understanding of the actions in progress.
