DeSoto ISD Set to Honor Area Veterans at Nov. 9 Ceremony
DeSoto ISD will honor area veterans at the Thurs., Nov. 9 Veterans Day Ceremony to be held at the DeSoto High School Auditorium located at 600 Eagle Drive.
The event will include a light breakfast set to begin at 9 am for area veterans and will be followed by a program of honor and recognition for those who have served in various capacities in the military.
Lt. Col. Russell L. Hooper, senior army instructor and director of JROTC programs, has led the planning and organization of the event for nearly ten years and says the event has become a mainstay when counted among the range of events that invite the community into the district.
Russell says families, alumni and community members gather for this time of honor and remembrance as DeSoto ISD students participate in commemorating the sacrifices of our veterans.
